Inference

WALT: Test Ready, preparing myself with strategies to do my best in the upcoming tests.

For this weeks activity we were focusing on Inferring. We had to read the book in this presentation to answer all the questions. Some were difficult and some were easy but I and a few others managed to answer the questions. This presentation has got me ready for my upcoming test.

On the 21st of July they held a race for the world's fastest snail.
The prize that hosta got was Vegetables.

3. Find out where this event took place and include some information
about this place.

This Event took place in the U.K In the U.K is where the Queen lives.

4. Tell us when this event happened and explain what might happen
in the future.

21st July 2018, In the future Hosta might be a World Wide Champion.
He might even have his own snail mansion.

5. Explain in your own words why this event took place.

I personally think that a lot of people were curious to see who had
the fastest snail.

6. Use the Dictionary in the bottom right hand corner to find the meaning
of 3 words from the article.

There was no Dictionary.

Paula The Poet

Today we have learnt about Paula Green and her work in poetry. We will be writing poetry with guides from her site ''Poetry Box''

Dancing with the Stars

For this week's activity we got to read a book based on ''Dancing with the stars" Our task was to create a poster that will help other's through their hard times and this is what I came up with. With this poster I think it means a lot of things to other's but to me this poster just give's me one topic and that's to not give up. This activity encouraged me by reading the book and answering the questions.

Holes - The last chapter

WALT:  Summarising - I make effective notes and condense ideas to summarise

For this weeks activity we got to do the last chapter of Holes. At the end it was interesting to find out who left Camp Green Lake and who stayed. It was also interesting to find out what the warden and her assistants were actually trying to find. My overall thoughts on the book were that they should make a Part 2 and that the movie and the book was fun to read/watch. I suggest that others should read this book to experience all the ups and downs in the book.

Carnivorous Plants.

For this weeks activity was Carnivorous Plants. We had to compare plants that we thought were similar. We also learnt more about Carnivorous Plants.

For this weeks activity, Ms Tapuke gave the Kauri group The Rat. In this activity we got to learn more about the 4 sections of an Orchestra which are: The String family, Woodwind family, Brass Family, and the Percussion Family. 

Mission to Jupiter

Today I have finished my reading activity for week 5 and 6. This activity talks about how the space craft Galileo's mission to Jupiter and what happened along the way. The purpose of this reading activity was to find out what the author was trying to inform, entertain or persuade in the article.

Elections 2017

WALT -  understand how leadership of groups in communities and societies.

Today I have finished my Reading activity for Week 7 and this activity was about the Elections that are happening in 2017. On this activity we had to insert images of different parties and also all the leaders of each party. We also had to create our own game and my group managed to come up with a game.

My Water Worries

Success Criteria:  I will know I can do this when I can use information from the text to back up my answers. Today I finished my water worries. Water worries is about how much water we lose and also it's about the most dirtiest rivers, lakes and also the dirtiest water in the world. By the way hope you enjoy reading.

Save The Water!!

We need to save the water and we don't have much time because there are a lot of people littering and chucking there food scraps into the ocean.

We don't have much time before the oceans and seas are polluted.

My Newspaper Article

Will He Save Her

Superman is watching television and he changes the channel to the news, he hears that Joker is hanging a lady called mary jane upside down from a 50 story building. This must be a job for Superman! So Superman ripped his shirt open to reveal the most famous of S’s and changed into Superman! He went to the building as soon as he got their Joker cut the rope and so Superman flew up and catched Mary Jane so she survived and superman took her to safety and said

“I need to go and deal with this bad guy” He was on his way to go and finish of his job.

As soon as he got there he flew to the top of the building and said to joker “This is going to be over soon” Joker replied, This is not the end Super pants. Superman said do not  tease my name I am a master of all rises Joker replied and said let’s just get this over and done with superman said deal.                           

They started to battle. Helicopters were flying above their heads speaking on the microphone saying stop joker you won’t get away with this any more so Joker was focusing on the helicopters telling him to stop so Superman flew up to him and did a big great punch.

KAPOW BOOM POW there goes Joker falling of the building until superman realises that Joker is missing but the cops call him and say that they already took him to jail. So mary jane comes up to superman and says Thank You very much for saving my life and for taking him away.
