Kowhaiwhai for P.E.S

This year as our parting koha for Pt England School we have designed and painted our own kowhaiwhai. These will be mounted permanently as our koha as Year 8 of 2018. I've called my artwork 'Ko Au' - 'Me'. It has symbols that represent my Family, Myself and Also GOD.

The steps I took to produce this are :
1. Practising our Kowhaiwhai
2. Sketching/Drawing Korus
3. Darkening on Wood
4. Painting
5. Outlining product with Black Marker
6. Varnish product

When we were painting our boards we had to be extra careful. Trying not to smudge the paint was hard enough. It has been a fun journey Sketching/Drawing our product to actually painting it. I hope that these paintings will become memories to Pt England School forever.

Art

For this weeks activity we had to pick an artist and how they use the elements of art. Our focus is based on our Rubric for Art. Our goal is to try our best to explain the three elements of Art.

Inquiry Post - EXPO

   EXPO

Team five decided to do an EXPO to show to Pt England School.
The reason why is because we needed to teach the younger
students about Force and Motion. Teaching makes you
a better learner.

Our group had more than two ideas, our first idea was
to do a catapult, another idea we had in mind was to do an
egg in the water experiment.

For our project we wanted to do the egg in the water
experiment. The reason why we wanted to do this experiment
was because it looked fun, and we wanted to test it out, and that
it concludes Force & Motion.

Our group failed because we didn’t have the equipment.
But we really wanted to do the EXPO with the other Yr
7 & 8 so hopefully we can do it next time.

When we have another EXPO our group should have
the right equipment, and to be ready to present what
we have learned to the Pt England Students.

Three Laws Of Motion

For this term our topic is, I like to move it. Behind our topic is that we are doing research and learning about Force and Motion. We chose to research and learn more about the Three Laws of Motion. In this presentation shows you all of our research and learning about Force and Motion.

Dear Nicholas,

What I would suggest for you is that I think that you should stick to your uniform. Why I think you should wear your uniform is because when you go out on trips with your school or your year group people know what school you guys are and that they know that you guys are representing your school well.

If you do not want to wear uniform I suggest that you explain to your school office what the problem is and that you tell them some suggestions on changing the school uniform and if other people agree with you or you can get enrolled into another school that don’t have to wear school uniform.

I hope that these suggestions help you and I hope that everything goes well.

Ana's Animal Challenge

Ana Immersion AssemblyT4 Activity.

P1: Introduction: Who, what, where, when? Stage set up/decorations?

On monday the 12th of October. We had a Immersion Assembly and the whole school was in the hall. The theme for this term is Survivors also Outwit Outsmart and Outlast.

The theme for term 4 was cool because I liked the name because it sounded interesting

P2:  Describe the performances, choreography

& costume accessories you saw on stage?

On the stage there was Dancing and karaoke and some people were singing Happy By Pharrell Williams also Roar by Katy Perry it was awesome fun and exciting. I liked how they were singing because there was a prize and a winner and the was Marika and the prize was going on a trip to the zoo  with the year 1 class and she was lucky to get the prize.

P3: Describe one visual/movie highlight?  What were they about? Actors?

At the Immersion Assembly Mr Jacobsen introduced his movie that we watched and it was called The Blindfolded Ninja. also there was a lot of other movies presented by a lot of other teachers. My favourite movie was team 4 which was our movie it was so funny/

P4:Describe how you felt overall about the immersion assembly and one new thing you have learned?

After assembly we came back to our classes and I was learning about adaptation in my class and how to adapt. It was fun learning how to adapt because we got to get little kit kat bars if we get a question right and I got 2 kit kat bars for answering 2 questions about adaptation.

hug barney I wanted to hug barney but they never picked me but I was still excited to see barney down stage.But it wasn't the real barney it was one of the teachers in our school.

It was so fun at the Immersion Assembly.

Term 1 2014 Chromebook Reflection

What did I enjoy?	It is quick to learn on Chromebooks because it makes you brainy and Chromebooks make you Cyber Smart. it is cool to learn on Chromebooks because you could post things on your blog and you could study well and lean more about other things at Pt England School
Things I didn’t enjoy?	Things i didn’t enjoy was always getting pencil and paper and always take our time and it always feels boring
What did I learn?	what I learn was to take care of my Chromebook learn on it nicely
What did I find most interesting?	learning at Pt England School and learning about reflection
How I feel about my term overall?	to lose my chromebook and never go on it again
What could I have done better to help my learning?	taking my chromebook home and learning on it
